Transportation
Bus or taxi rides to receive medical care are arranged by your county Department
of Social or Human Services. Call your county
for more information.
Pregnancy and Delivery
Always notify your county caseworker if you become pregnant. You must go to a Health
Tradition network doctor, clinic or hospital for prenatal care visits and to deliver
your baby.
Emergency Care
Emergency care is care needed right away. If you need emergency care, go to a Health
Tradition facility. For severe emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital,
clinic or doctor.
Emergency care is medical treatment required unexpectedly and immediately because
of an accidental injury or emergency illness. An emergency exists when a member’s
symptoms are severe enough to lead a prudent layperson to reasonably conclude that
immediate medical attention is necessary. It does not include elective medical treatment
for an illness or injury (including follow-up care from an emergency room visit)
for which the need for care could reasonably have been foreseen.
Urgent Care
Urgent care is care you need sooner than a routine provider’s visit. Urgent
care is not emergency care. If you need urgent care services, you should go to a
Health Tradition urgent care provider. For urgent care away from home, you must
get prior approval from Health Tradition to go to a different hospital, clinic,
or heath care provider.
Billing
You must receive all your medical care from Health Tradition providers. If you receive
a bill for services, call the Member Advocate locally at 608-783-9507 or toll-free
at 1-800-545-8499.
If You Move
If you are planning to move or have already moved, call your county Department of
Social or Human Services.
