COVID-19 Vaccine Update
The Department of Health Services (DHS) has announced beginning April 5, all individuals ages 16 and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Where can I get the COVID-19 vaccine?
Pharmacies are the preferred choice to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, due to their numerous locations, convenient hours of operation and ease of use. When the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, you can visit vaccinefinder.org to see the number of vaccines available at nearby pharmacies. We also recommend checking the pharmacy’s website, as people will most likely be required to make an appointment for both the first and second shots. You can also receive a vaccination at a mass vaccination clinic run by local departments of health.
How much will the COVID-19 vaccine cost?
The COVID-19 vaccine is free and available at no cost to everyone. You will be able to receive the vaccine at any pharmacy or mass distribution site.
Is the COVID-19 vaccine safe?
Safety has been a top priority for the COVID-19 vaccine. We have examined the FDA’s vaccine trials and as of now, none of the vaccine trials have reported any serious safety concerns. People cannot develop COVID-19 from these vaccines.
What can I do to stay healthy until I am eligible to receive a vaccine?
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should stay home. We encourage everyone to wash their hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, wear a mask when in public and stay at least six feet apart from others.
Please be aware of potential scams related to the COVID-19 vaccine. We encourage everyone to protect themselves and to not give out personal information to unknown sources.
